Matthews has received an Advanced Diploma in Ministry from Rhema Bible College, Randburg, South Africa (2008) and an Advanced Diploma in Ministry from Hillsong International Leadership College (2011).

His primary passion is pastoring and mentoring young people in ministry to live out their God given potential. When not writing or in the studio you'll most likely find him on the couch catching up on a TV series
